Position Overview Perfetto Contracting Inc. is seeking an experienced

Safety Engineer

to join our team. The Safety Engineer will support the company’s safety program by overseeing and coordinating safety efforts on a large construction project or across multiple smaller projects. This position reports directly to the

Corporate Safety Manager

and plays a key role in ensuring compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and monitor the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program on assigned projects.

Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations; prepare and maintain related documentation.

Support field supervision and project management teams in maintaining a proactive safety culture.

Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for field personnel.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, NYC DOB, and other applicable safety standards.

Collaborate with the Corporate Safety Manager on safety planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Identify and mitigate potential hazards to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment.

Qualifications

Minimum

5 years of experience

in safety management within

heavy civil construction

(utility, infrastructure, or roadway projects preferred).

CHST certification required

(ASP and/or CSP strongly preferred).

Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with safety management software a plus.
