Summary of Position The senior escrow officer performs advanced duties related to all facets of escrow processing. They are required to exercise exemplary independent judgement and to possess the knowledge and experience necessary to handle any situation that may arise during the escrow process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ability to complete resale, refinance, or builder escrow transactions, including preparation of all documents associated with the processing and closing of escrow, conveyance of title, recording of documents, clearing of title requirements and issuance of title insurance.

Ability to read and understand title commitments.

Ability to resolve title issues (e.g., corrective deeds, vesting, federal tax liens, abstracts of judgment, bankruptcies, mineral rights, boundary disputes and encroachments).

Understand real estate regulations and guidelines.

Manage quality control for compliance with the Texas Department of Insurance.

Follow company standards and practices when processing transactions, as well as applicable state laws and guidelines.

Coordinate the closing between all parties to the escrow.

Return all calls, voicemails, and e-mails in a timely manner.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintain cordial relationships with lenders, developers, builders, buyers, and sellers to promote/solicit business.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge

Minimum five years as a licensed Texas Escrow Officer.

High school degree or equivalent required.

Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Knowledge of SoftPro preferred.

Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.

Business fundamentals: maintains privacy and confidentiality of company information, as well as that of customers and co-workers.

Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Physical Demands Employees are required to talk and hear. Vision required: close vision. Employees often sit and use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate office equipment such as a computer, copier, and office supplies. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and stoop, kneel or crouch.
