Job Purpose The purpose of this classification is to gather information and provide recommendations regarding bond requirements and conditions for eligible detainees prior to trial dates.

Responsibilities Leads and/or coordinates daily work activities of assigned crew or co‑workers: confers with supervisor to obtain direction regarding work assignments and priorities; confers with co‑workers, assists with complex situations or problems, and provides technical expertise; assists with training and instructing co‑workers regarding operational procedures and proper use of software/equipment; and assists with supervision of co‑workers by reporting employee problems and providing input on disciplinary action and employee performance evaluations.

Conducts interviews with defendants, victims, family members, and references: gathers defendant's demographic information, residence, employment, criminal history, driving records, and other pertinent information; completes intake process; verifies references; evaluates defendants against established program requirements; and prepares release recommendations.

Prepares for bond hearings: prepares bond assessment reports containing identity, criminal history, and reference information; makes recommendations regarding release of defendants; and removes defendants in violation of their release from their original bond.

Monitors defendants' compliance with release conditions as assigned: conducts field visits and drug screens; provides referrals to social and rehabilitative agencies as needed; coordinates with community partners, facilitators, providers, and other interdependent agencies to provide services to program participants; assists program participants in resolving and/or handling problems; files bench warrants for non‑compliant defendants; and opens and closes cases.

Prepares and updates case histories and other documentation: prepares and submits evaluation reports; provides defendants with court notifications; runs criminal histories through Georgia Crime Information Center and National Crime Information Center databases; and prepares bench warrants, bail revocations, and other court documents as needed.

Provides court testimonies as required: provides information and addresses questions from court staff; and makes recommendations as to whether the defendant is eligible for release through pre‑trial supervision.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or related field required; supplemented by two years of experience in pre‑trial release, criminal justice, court administration or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Licensing Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Physical/Work Requirements Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5‑10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.

Sensory Requirements Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

Environmental Factors Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as violence or rude/irate customers.
