Philadelphia Theatre Company (PTC) seeks an experienced, customer-focused Front of House Manager to oversee the lobby and auditorium experience at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre. Reporting to the Patron Services Manager, this role ensures that every patron’s visit is safe, welcoming, and aligned with PTC’s standards of excellence in hospitality and accessibility. The FOH Manager is a visible leader in the lobby — proactive, calm under pressure, and empowered to make decisions that support the smooth flow of performances and events. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Oversight

Maintain an active and visible presence throughout the lobby, auditorium, and second floor during all events. Model and encourage proactive engagement with guests and volunteers, ensuring a consistent, confident FOH presence. Make situational decisions independently Support a culture of clear communication between FOH, Box Office, and Stage Management.

Guest Experience

Greet and assist patrons with warmth and professionalism; anticipate needs and respond to concerns swiftly. Uphold safety, accessibility, and emergency procedures at all times. Ensure consistent quality of PTC’s public-facing experience, including the presentation of all marketing materials and signage.

Operations & Administration

Oversee usher briefings, program stuffing, ticket scanning, seating, and late seating protocols. Supervise and coach volunteer ushers, reinforcing accountability and teamwork. Monitor distribution of assisted listening devices and maintain accurate records. Complete detailed nightly FOH reports summarizing attendance, incidents, and patron feedback. Open and secure the building in compliance with all PTC security procedures.

Facility Readiness

Ensure the lobby and auditorium are clean, organized, and performance-ready before each show. Communicate any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated customer service and/or theatre FOH experience. Confidence in managing volunteers and leading a team. Ability to remain composed and solution-oriented under pressure. CPR or First Aid training is a plus Compensation

This is a part-time position with a rate of $80/shift; paid bi-weekly. Work Schedule and Location

All shifts take place at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (480 S Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19146). The schedule is flexible according to the needs of the FOH team, but regular availability in the evenings Tuesday - Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday is required. Start Date
