Mentoring and precepting staff are also important aspects of the role. The RN performs assessments and reassessments according to policy and procedure. Sound independent decision-making is demonstrated in care delivery. The RN initiates and prioritizes the plan of care, reviewing and revising as necessary. Collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services is essential. Resources are used appropriately to support the needs of patients and families.
