Sourcing Specialist
The Sourcing Specialist will play a critical role in the operations department by ensuring the best possible selection of vendors for Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) items. Responsibilities include: sourcing, negotiating, and establishing relationships with suppliers to secure the timely delivery of high-quality materials. Improving the vendor selection process, identifying areas to increase purchasing power, supporting other departments by completing accurate and timely requests for quotes, analyzing and communicating applicable market trends to management and other stakeholders, assisting with issuing purchase orders and agreements that reflect negotiated terms with suppliers, monitoring supplier performance, quality, and pricing, and resolving any issues. Identifying cost-saving opportunities through negotiation, supplier selection, and process improvements, coordinating with upstream and downstream departments, specifically Business Development and Engineering, documenting and communicating product and process change requests, assisting department managers in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, performing other administrative and purchasing duties for the supply chain department as needed, and following Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences. Essential Skills include Procurement, Negotiation, Sourcing, Purchasing, Purchase order management, 2-3 years' experience in sourcing and/or purchasing/buying, ability to source, negotiate, and build relationships with suppliers, capability to secure timely delivery of high-quality materials and components, experience identifying and monitoring cost-saving opportunities and supplier performance, familiarity with APIC's Certifications, knowledge of RoHS and REACH standards, and understanding of manufacturing Bills of Materials, part numbers, and revision levels. Additional Skills & Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience, 2-3 years), self-motivated individual able to balance a large workload with shifting priorities, effective communication skills to speak, listen, and write clearly and thoroughly, ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions, demonstrate responsiveness, tact, diplomacy, good judgment, and confidentiality in communications, demonstrate commitment and adherence to core values, and pass a post-offer background verification. The work environment is a product development, engineering, and manufacturing firm based in the Pacific Northwest, offering innovative concept through production services to diverse clients globally. The role requires working in-office from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with some flexibility on start and end times, supporting a team of 3 Buyers and a Purchasing Manager. The position offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with benefits including a 401(k) with up to 4% company match, accrued PTO, and 9 company-paid holidays for those working over 20 hours per week. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camas, Washington. The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
