Duties
Examines and analyzes departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information.
Creates purchase orders for the acquisition of materials.
Determines method to process requisition based on dollar amount, timeliness required, existing open contracts, and/or competitive bidding.
Researches, interviews and negotiates with vendors to obtain prices and specifications.
Creates and maintains long-term agreements (LTA) with vendors.
A degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Uses knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures related to vendor sourcing.
Performs and maintains activities required for DCAA audits.
Works with drawings.
Works with program managers and engineers to resolve material issues on programs.
Resolves issues with purchase orders, deliveries and RFPs.
Maintains PO CPSR files.
Works in a team environment.
Required to work with little supervision.
Attends production/project meetings as needed.
Covers teammate's desk in their absence.
Assists with training of new team members.
Provides constructive feedback to team members.
Initiates improvements to streamline process flows.
Self-motivated with acute attention to detail.
Maintains existing supplier relationships and initiates potential new supplier relationships.
Attends supplier and MRB meetings.
Generates open status/expedite report, works late deliveries and enters expedite notes into Cost Point.
Handles additional requests aside from procurement queue.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience may be substituted for education.
Four years of minimum experience in the field or related area.
Experience with Deltek CostPoint required.
Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.
Skill in both verbal and written communication.
SharePoint experience required.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces and sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to routinely climb/descend stairs.
On occasion must be able to lift 25 pounds.
Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees, and reach above/below shoulders.
Works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions.
