General Description Examines and analyzes departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information. Reviews, analyzes, and interprets procurement materials such as RFPs, RFQs, and distills information for use in budget preparation.
DUTIES
Creates purchase orders for the acquisition of materials and follows through from cradle to grave.
Determines method to process requisition based on dollar amount, timeliness required, existing open contracts, and/or competitive bidding.
Uses knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to vendor sourcing.
Performs and maintains activities required for DCAA audits.
Maintains PO CPSR files.
Works with drawings and bills of material.
Resolves issues with purchase orders, deliveries, and RFQs/RFPs.
Compiles, analyzes, and documents supplier pricing data, historical data to determine best value for purchase orders and proposal bids.
Prepares and documents priced Bill of Material and material (BOM) cost estimate development.
Coordinates with project managers to help develop pricing support for contract modification.
Works in a team environment.
Generates Open Status/Expedite report, works late deliveries and enters expedite notes into Cost Point.
Performs a variety of tasks, requiring certain creativity and latitude.
Is self‑motivated with acute attention to detail.
Maintains existing supplier relationships and initiates potential new supplier relationships.
Provides routine administrative support.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree or experience may be substituted for a degree.
Minimum 2 years of experience in the field or related area.
Proficient in Excel.
Experience in creating and working with bills of material and government drawings.
Skill in preparing and analyzing complex technical specifications and bids.
Ability to perform and apply cost/estimating and pricing principles to review, compile, and analyze supplier cost and historical data.
Understanding of regulatory requirements (ITAR, FAR, etc.).
Experience with Deltek CostPoint preferred.
Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must undergo drug‑free workplace screening and post‑offer pre‑employment testing.
