Shipping Specialist I

Main Duties & Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: Processes the shipments of finished goods to appropriate customers, making necessary inventory transactions and preparing required shipping documents. Resolves issues and discrepancies involving customer requirements, inventory transactions, and/or customer shipping or methods.
Based on customer due dates, shipping instructions, and shipping terms, process ship‑confirmations in the ERP System for all shipments to customers.
Generate appropriate documentation for all shipments including Shipper, Certs, Commercial Invoice for exports, etc.
Check labels and documents for errors and omissions and work with appropriate parties to correct and update if errors are discovered.
Coordinate the Shipping Package through the Certification Office and Source Inspection as needed.
Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure that all shipments are invoiced.
Ensure that timely Tracking information is provided to the Sales Department.
Process all documentation required for international shipments including and coordinate with freight forwarders and brokers as needed.
Coordinate freight carriers to ensure the timely pick ups of freight.
Process Vendor Managed Inventory consigned inventory transactions.
Use Customer portals as needed to coordinate shipments, generate labels, and confirm shipments.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to identify research and resolve problems.
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of integrated ERP Systems, Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software. Able to respond to e‑mails and trained on third‑party internet applications.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Three (3) years experience in a shipping department environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

Compensation In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $19.00 - $29.86.
Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
