AV Operations Analyst 1
The Audio-Visual Junior Technician position reports to the AV Department Manager. The primary purpose of this position is to support the AV equipment in classroom environments in the most functional and timely manner possible. This includes installation, repair, and maintenance of audio visual and computer equipment for all classrooms on the LSU A&M campus. Job Responsibilities: AV Multi-Media Room Support: Provides Tier 1 Audio Visual Support for technology in multimedia spaces. Also provides phone support for clients in the multimedia spaces. Advises staff members about operation of equipment. Basic system troubleshooting. Monitors any AV alert systems as required to provide efficient and effective support. (40%) Diagnostic and Repair: Assist with the diagnostics and repair of AV equipment used for instruction and research. Install and troubleshoot AV technology including AV switching systems, projectors, LED monitors, document cameras, and computer/internet collaboration interaction with the AV infrastructure (Zoom and Microsoft Teams). Implement measures for security of such installed equipment. Coordinate and implement software and firmware updates of multimedia equipment classroom equipment as needed. (20%) Installation and Maintenance: Cabling/termination, support of AV control systems, projector maintenance, audio troubleshooting. Performs Monthly room checks as well full system checks. Maintain inventory control of equipment installed in campus AV rooms, tools, and back-up equipment. Maintain all related information, records, and reporting as required. (15%) AV Events: Assists in the support of live audio events including setup/breakdown. Assists in aspects of production, including organizing, designing, and setup to ensure successful events and customer satisfaction. Assists with work on multiple audio consoles for live University events. (10%) AV Trends: Evaluate and investigate technologies in support of AV operations. (10%) Other duties as assigned. (5%) Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 1 year technical experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of audio-visual equipment. Familiarity of installation and maintenance of multimedia equipment such as: LCD monitors and projectors, document cameras, IP networking, student response systems, sound systems, switchers, and software installation. Familiarity with computers and computer networking. Crestron and/or Extron programming experience a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Crestron and/or Extron programming experience a plus.
