Payroll Specialist

Location: Chicago, Illinois Employment Type: Temporary / Contract 3-6 months

Pay: $30-$35 per hour

About the Role

Eastridge is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support our client's HR and Finance teams by ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys data accuracy, problem-solving, and providing excellent internal customer service. The Payroll Specialist will play a key role in maintaining compliance, auditing data, and supporting bi-weekly payroll operations within ADP WorkForce Now.

Key Responsibilities

Process bi-weekly payroll in ADP WorkForce Now, ensuring all employee data, hours, and earnings are accurate. Compile and input payroll data including taxes, bonuses, deductions, and time/attendance records. Set up and maintain wage garnishments and other employee deductions. Ensure compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws. Audit data from HR systems and verify payroll accuracy. Review data entry for accuracy and consistency; support peers with quality control. Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and Department Managers to resolve discrepancies and maintain accuracy. Maintain organized and confidential payroll files within the HR database. Run bi-weekly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports as needed. Assist with year-end reporting and W-2 preparation. Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and management in a timely and professional manner. Stay current on changing payroll legislation, compliance updates, and ADP best practices. Safeguard confidential employee and departmental information. Perform other related payroll duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications

Required:

Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Preferred:

Experience with ADP WorkForce Now and related ADP reporting tools (Report Writer, Rapid Runner). Familiarity with PeopleSoft and WorkForce (Time & Attendance) systems. Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment. Knowledge of ProBusiness payroll systems. Skills and Abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure. Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
