Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leads terminal operations, including vessel loading/unloading, labor coordination, and equipment oversight to ensure safe and efficient execution. Manages operational performance, productivity, and profitability in alignment with corporate goals. Develops and implements local policies and procedures, including short- and long-term operational strategies. Supervise and develop terminal staff, including hiring and termination decisions in coordination with Human Resources, performance evaluations, and morale-building initiatives. Coordinates with ports authorities, government agencies, and vendors to ensure compliance and operational continuity. Monitors and communicates market conditions, identifying opportunities and constraints affecting terminal operations. Ensures compliance with environmental regulations, safety protocols, and reporting requirements. Oversees labor relations, including grievance resolution and adherence to union/non-union contractual obligations. Approves operational documents, including purchase orders, supply requisitions, invoices, and timecards. Maintains terminal cleanliness and equipment safety, including operator-level maintenance and inspections. Collaborates with Safety Director to identify and implement safety improvements. Ensures timely and effective dissemination of corporate communications to all local staff, maintaining alignment with company policies and initiatives. Participates in all mandatory training requirements as directed by federal, state, and local agencies, as well as company guidelines, and ensure staff compliance with the same. Supports cross-terminal operations, assisting with engineering, maintenance, and operational challenges. Contributes to budget development and forecasting, ensuring alignment with financial goals. Represents the company at industry functions and meetings, maintaining visibility and stakeholder engagement. Performance Goal: Achieve a 10% improvement in terminal throughput and reduce safety incidents by 20% within the first year. Maintains availability to work weekends and holidays as vessel schedules require. Adapts to changing operational demands and support other terminals as needed. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications

Required:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Experience:

7-10+ years of progressively responsible experience in terminal operations, including supervisory roles. Licenses:

Valid driver's license; valid TWIC card or ability to obtain and maintain. Knowledge:

Strong understanding of terminal equipment operations, including mobile gear and ship cranes. Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations applicable to terminal operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills:

Ability to lead and develop teams effectively. Strong communication and conflict resolution skills. Proficiency in strategic planning and operational execution. Ability to manage budgets and analyze performance metrics. Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environments.

Preferred:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or Logistics. Additional Experiences:

Background in stevedoring, maritime logistics, or port operations. Knowledge:

Familiarity with regulatory reporting systems and port authority procedures. Skills:

Experience with SOP development and process improvement. Ability to foster cross-functional collaboration and culture-building.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to see, hear, speak, stand, walk, bend and communicate clearly. Manual dexterity is needed for operating standard office equipment. The position may occasionally involve lifting items up to 10-50 pounds and may require travel to active work sites to meet accountabilities. Work Environment:

Work is typically performed in a clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled office environment with low to moderate noise levels. Occasional visits to field locations may be required, including active job sites with varying weather conditions and potential exposure to noise, dust, and other occupational hazards. Safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided and required as appropriate. Benefits
