The Veteran Mental Health Peer is the peer for the Liberty House Clinical Treatment Model Transitional Program., adhering to TAC requirements. Peer Specialist provides ongoing services to homeless veterans, facilitating access to essential services and empowering clients to achieve goals outlined in the Clinical Treatment Model.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education: High School Diploma/GED Years' Experience: One (1) year Defined Experience: For MHMRTC peer positions you must have life experience with one of the following diagnoses: Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, or schizoaffective disorder. You must have life experience receiving services for this and have life experience in recovery for Mental Health and/or COPSD (co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders). License/Certifications: Peer Specialist Certification within 1 year of employment. Valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Special Courses: Peer Specialist Certification within 1 year of employment.
