Responsibilities

Brightstar is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support our global manufacturing operations in West Greenwich, RI. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, compliance with ISO 9000 standards, and continuous improvement across our supply chain. You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and global subsidiaries to drive quality excellence and resolve nonconformances.

Audit & Compliance

Review documentation, processes, and procedures for ISO 9000 compliance.

Coordinate equipment calibration cycles for the Quality Engineering team.

Inspection & Verification

Read engineering specifications to perform dimensional and functional first article inspections.

Verify workmanship standards on components and assemblies, including BOM accuracy.

Issue Resolution & Documentation

Investigate nonconforming materials from operations and global sites.

Document findings and drive resolution across teams and locations.

Record quality issues in SAP and designated documentation systems.

Data Analysis & Process Improvement

Analyze quality data to support long-term procedural decisions.

Review and recommend updates to department practices, policies, and procedures.

Material Disposition

Process rejected/nonconforming materials in SAP.

Assess severity and determine disposition with moderate impact on production schedules.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

: High School Graduate or Equivalent

Preferred Education

: Associate’s Degree

Minimum Experience

:

2+ years in a manufacturing environment

2+ years in a quality assurance environment

Preferred Experience

:

2+ years in a quality assurance environment

2+ years providing electronic technician support

Licenses/Certifications

: CQI or CQT (strongly preferred but not required)

Additional Skills & Expertise

Basic knowledge of manufacturing techniques, parts, and materials

Understanding of quality fundamentals (zero-defects, first pass yield, LEAN principles)

Familiarity with measuring tools, gauges, and hand tools

Knowledge of Brightstar products and ISO 9000 standards

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to read schematics and engineering blueprints

Strong communication and writing skills

Experience with SAP and Enovia

At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $43,680 - $68,037. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
