POSITION DESCRIPTION
FIRST ROBOTICS ADVISORS (3)
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP CAMPUS
Deadline: This position will be filled in no less than ten (10) days after the date of this posting.
TITLE : ACTIVITIES ADVISOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate or Substitute Teaching Certificate.
2. Teaching experience that is deemed appropriate and successful.
3. Ability to plan and supervise activities, manage organization funds, and direct and discipline students.
4. Record of positive work ethic qualities: attendance, job
performance, and professionalism.
5. Successfully undergo a criminal history check and proof
of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
6. Meets the health qualifications required of all personnel.
7. Meets NJ residency requirements or willingness to relocate
to NJ within 365 days of employment.
8. Must follow the guidelines of the Camden County Technical
Schools' Nepotism Policy, File Code: 0142.1.
Based on Schedule B of the Teacher's Agreement. No Benefits.
Interviews are at the discretion of the superintendent and/or designee and based
on qualifications for the position.

POSITION GOALS:
To inspire young people to be science and technology leaders by
engaging them in exciting, mentor-based programs that build science,
engineering and technology skills that inspire innovation and that
foster well-rounded life capabilities, including self-confidence,
communication, and leadership.
REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics and Student Activities
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organize and manage the year-round schedule, including holding meetings with volunteers, parents,mentors, and students to plan, communicate and schedule various team activities. The advisor will conduct at least one executive session and one general membership assembly meeting monthly. The schedule of these events must be forwarded to the Director of Athletics and Student Activities by November 30 of the current school year.
3. The advisor will coordinate the scheduling of all meetings and organization events and see to it that the proper
arrangements for meeting and functions are made with the following:
a. The Assistant Principals' office.
b. The custodial staff.
c. The local police department (if appropriate).
All organizational events or special projects must be approved in
advance by the Director of Athletics and Student Activities.
A preliminary schedule of events must be forwarded to the Director
of Athletics and Student Activities by November 30 of the current
school year.
4. The advisor will establish the selection of organization
leadership/officers in accordance with Parliamentary Procedures
by November 30 of the current school year and forward a list
of officers to the Director of Athletics and Student Activities
and Assistant Principals.
5. Where appropriate the advisor will supervise and maintain a student
activity account in accordance with business office procedures.
In conjunction with that, any fundraiser being considered must
be forwarded to the Director of Athletics and Student Activities
for approval before initiating.
6. The advisor will identify and inventory any and all organizational
supplies and equipment. This will be completed by November 30
of the current school year and maintained through the year
and resubmitted before official closeout of the school year in June.
7. The advisor will formally supervise the daily activity of the club and
organization meetings and projects, etc. (supervision time implies
direct chaperoning of all activities inclusive of transportation to and
from events). Should transportation to an event involve out-of-state
travel or charter transportation, you must submit the request
a minimum of two months in advance in order to seek board approval.
8. The advisor will personally supervise and where appropriate manage
organizational communication and correspondence.
9. The advisor will maintain and update a membership list and quarterly
forward to the Director of Athletics and Student Activities for the
organizational file.
10. The advisor will forward to the Director of Athletics and Student Activities
for approval all daily announcements of club activities a minimum of one
week in advance.
11. The advisor will inform the Director of Athletics and Student Activities
of any need for security or maintenance services for large or special
events.
12. The advisor will submit a plan for all fundraisers by November 30
of the current school year.
13. The advisor will submit agendas for all meetings a week in advance
to the Director of Athletics and Student Activities.
14. The advisor will comply with all FIRST Robotics Competition policies
and rules regarding team registration and fee payments.
15. The advisor will promote the vision of FIRST Robotics in the school
district and community.
