Manager, Safety and Emergency Preparedness, FIFA World Cup 2026 The Manager, Safety and Emergency Preparedness will report to the Director, Safety and Emergency Preparedness and work closely with the Regional Safety and Security Managers to manage the planning, coordination and implementation of comprehensive emergency preparedness functions across the tournament. The role focuses on command and control structures as well as the overall safety and security training program.

Key Responsibilities

Lead development of the overall safety and security training program.

Coordinate overall emergency preparedness exercise schedule with regional managers.

Facilitate simulation exercises involving various agencies and functional areas to test emergency plans, identify improvement areas, and conduct after‑action reviews.

Serve as the safety and security lead for emergency messaging at official sites.

Formulate and update comprehensive emergency response and management plans tailored to the tournament, integrating local emergency management agencies into broader community response strategies.

Implement the FIFA26 Security C4 strategy and provide onsite public safety command and control support at the Tournament Operations Center.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in emergency preparedness, fire rescue operations, policy development, or event management.

Minimum of 10 years managing safety and emergency management for large, complex organizations with a focus on large‑scale events.

Experience developing and implementing in‑person and virtual training programs, learning management systems, and public warning systems.

Experience with National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS).

Knowledge of sport event safety and emergency planning best practices.

Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels and in multicultural environments.

Proficient in English (written and spoken); additional languages, particularly Spanish, are a plus.

Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project), planning software, and online collaboration tools.

Experience with Open‑Source Intelligence Tools, patron screening technology, biometric identity solutions, enterprise access control technology, and video analytics.
