Electrical Consultants, Inc. Job Location Madison, WI (immediate opening).
Responsibilities
Conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations.
Material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization.
Development and delivery of physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications.
Coordination, quality control and oversight of designers, drafters and support staff under the mentorship of a Project Engineer.
Collaboration with ECI subject‑matter experts in Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection (relay coordination and settings), Civil Engineering, Communication (SCADA Integration), and Transmission & Distribution Engineering.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Design engineering experience (preferred).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organization, planning and teamwork abilities.
Commitment to quality, accuracy and fast‑paced project schedules.
Willingness to pursue PE licensure (encouraged).
Fundamental knowledge of power engineering principles, codes and standards.
Subject to client‑mandated drug and background checking.
Occasional travel/driving required; subject to ECI’s auto‑insurance carrier requirements.
