Community Engagement Prevention Navigator
Positive Impact Health Centers (PIHC) is a community leader in providing HIV prevention, care, and treatment services. The PIHC model of care assures that persons with HIV have access to medical, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, and social services, providing the best opportunity for patients to achieve high‑quality health outcomes. Job Summary: This hybrid position develops and implements a coordinated HIV outreach plan that advances Prevention Services goals across Metro Atlanta, including virtual engagement. The role blends community engagement and clinical prevention by providing HIV/STI testing, counseling, condom distribution, and linkage to essential care and prevention services. It also supports rapid entry to HIV care and the PIHC PrEP program through education, same‑day linkage, and ongoing client retention and re‑engagement. In partnership with community organizations, the position expands access to services and promotes awareness of HIV prevention across diverse populations. All services are documented accurately, including timely partner notifications to local health departments, and the role reports directly to the Prevention Program Manager. The standard schedule for this position is Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required to support scheduled outreach events and community activations. Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare HIV prevention outreach plan for Decatur and Duluth Prevention services and update it annually or as directed. Act as liaison and first point of contact for event creation and scheduling. Lead and/or support the organization of special events as assigned. Research, scout, and generate new avenues of outreach and initiate and maintain partnerships. Act as primary outreach tester and representative of Positive Impact Health Centers and Prevention Services. Network with other agencies, funders, and other organizations to promote Positive Impact Health Center services and prevention‑related outreach events. Maintain the outreach supply closet by ensuring it is consistently clean, organized, and fully stocked. Conduct HIV counseling sessions in a non‑judgmental manner and with fidelity to the core elements and components of the HIV Prevention Counseling standards. Conduct off‑site testing in a sex‑positive manner in non‑traditional settings during non‑traditional work hours. Provide effective condom education and distribute condoms throughout the community. Provide education on pre‑exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and ensure people eligible for PrEP are linked to PrEP. Coordinate enrollment in PIHC’s Rapid Entry Program for individuals newly or previously diagnosed with HIV. Schedule medical appointments utilizing an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated experience engaging with culturally diverse communities and fostering inclusive environments. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, storytelling, and community outreach messaging. Proven ability to plan, organize, and implement community events, health fairs, and outreach initiatives that increase program visibility and participation. Skilled in developing and maintaining community partnerships, collaborations, and stakeholder relationships. Excellent organizational and project management abilities, including multitasking, prioritization, and timely follow‑through on deliverables. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated problem‑solving and decision‑making skills in dynamic and community‑based environments. Experienced in managing event logistics—from planning to execution—including volunteer coordination, vendor relations, and on‑site management. Proficient in creating outreach and marketing materials using tools such as Canva and social media management platforms. Skilled in leveraging social media and digital communications to promote health initiatives and engage community audiences. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other administrative tools. Committed to upholding organizational policies, ethical practices, and conflict‑of‑interest standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Health Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Health, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in community engagement, event planning, or public health outreach, with a focus on building relationships and driving participation. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience that demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered. Travel
Local travel between PIHC sites and to and from community agencies will be required. Occasional travel to events for training and promotion of salient services to AIDS Service Organizations. Occasional evening and weekend work is required; working greater than 40 hours per week may be required. Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or operate computers, objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
