Position: Production Engineer - Electrical and Mechanical

Location: Windsor Mill, MD

Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm; Monday – Friday

Pay: $90,000 - $100,000/year

Job Overview The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the design, development, and quality assurance of products, including cables, wire harnesses, robots, and drones. The engineer will also support production operations, manage drawing deviations, and contribute to the overall quality control and continuous improvement processes. Familiarity with ISO audits, quality engineering documentation, and a strong background in production environments is essential.

Job Responsibilities of the Production Engineer

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize electrical and mechanical systems, focusing on cables, wire harnesses, robotic systems, and drone components.

Create, review, and update engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.

Provide hands‑on support to production teams in troubleshooting and optimizing manufacturing processes.

Address technical issues and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and product quality.

Manage drawing deviations, including reviewing and approving modifications to existing designs in accordance with industry standards.

Assist with ISO audits by ensuring all processes, documentation, and products adhere to ISO standards.

Collaborate with internal teams to prepare for and respond to audit findings.

Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing product quality, production efficiency, and cost reductions.

Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, standards, and technologies in mechanical and electrical engineering.

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in production and manufacturing environments, preferably with experience in cable, wire harness, robotic, or drone production.

Proven experience with quality assurance, including QA processes, drawing deviations, and quality engineering documentation.

Hands‑on experience with production operations and supporting manufacturing processes.

Familiarity with ISO audits and maintaining ISO compliance.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and electrical design tools.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
