Join the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) as an adjunct faculty member in the History department. CCBC serves over 50,000 students and 200 businesses annually, offering a large variety of degree, certificate, and workplace certification programs across 3 campuses and additional centers.
Class Description We are seeking adjunct faculty to teach face‑to‑face and remote online survey courses in History, such as Western Civilization, U.S. History, and African American History. Adjunct faculty are selected based on program needs, applicant proficiency, course availability, and student enrollment.
Preferred candidates are enthusiastic about content and pedagogy, use best teaching practices, and are committed to student learning. Preference will be given to applicants who present evidence of excellence in teaching.
Adjunct Level & Compensation Adjunct Level 1
– $1,085 per credit hour.
Campus Locations Essex, Dundalk, Catonsville & Owings Mills
Minimum Requirements Master’s degree in History or a related field. Prior teaching experience preferred.
Class Specific Essential Duties
Prepare and deliver course instruction, follow common course outlines and policies, utilize the CCBC learning management system, grade, critique, and evaluate student work; provide timely feedback; keep and submit accurate classroom records; communicate with the discipline coordinator; attend required training sessions; attend professional development and departmental meetings.
Mentor students and contribute to the success of the history program.
Support the community college philosophy through commitment to the success of students with diverse goals, backgrounds and learning styles.
Commitment to the mission of the community college.
Maintain currency in field(s) through professional development and scholarly activities.
Perform related duties as required.

Parking Free parking. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety to use all campuses.
