Dance, Adjunct Faculty

– Community College of Baltimore County Part‑time instructor positions available in Dance, teaching one or more of the following Dance technique courses: Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Modern Dance, Ballet, and other dance forms as needed. The ability to teach Dance Appreciation and History of Hip Hop Dance is also a consideration. Please indicate technique forms qualified to teach on application. Adjunct faculty are selected based on program needs and subject matter expertise. Adjunct faculty are required to attend department meetings, participate in professional development related to classroom instruction and pedagogy, be available to students outside of class and assist in maintaining program accreditation. Locations

CCBC Essex & Catonsville Campuses and extension centers. Adjunct Level

$1,085 per credit hour. Adjunct faculty may teach up to 22 credit hours each year and usually teach no more than 11 credits each semester. Minimum Requirements

Master’s degree in Dance; or Master’s degree in related field with 18 graduate credits in Dance; or qualifying equivalency/portfolio and successful experience as a practitioner in the field Two (2) years teaching experience Experience working with non‑traditional and diverse student populations preferred Experience using classroom technology and learning management systems preferred Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge Prior college teaching experience preferred Essential Duties

Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed by the program director and/or course coordinator Abides by College‑wide policies and procedures regarding classroom conduct Ensures instruction meets or exceeds standards established by the National Association of Schools of Dance Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diverse student population Adheres to the scheduled time of class/lab Develops a course syllabus that is in keeping with program and college policies Ensures that program‑specific evaluation methods are administered and completed in a consistent and equitable manner Assures that evaluation methods are appropriate and effectively assessing the established course objectives Monitors student performance on a regular basis and provides feedback within a reasonable timeframe to students Benefits Summary

Tax‑sheltered annuities – 403(b) – payroll salary reduction authorization needed. The plan is available to all CCBC employees (Adjunct Faculty, Part‑time Associates and Full‑time employees). Roth 403(b) – employees may contribute both traditional pre‑tax and Roth post‑tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional and Roth contributions. 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan – salary reduction authorization form is needed. The plan is available to all CCBC employees. Parking – free. Must obtain a parking permit from the Department of Public Safety to use on all campuses.
