Job Title: Contract Talent Acquisition Specialist

Location: Evanston, IL (Hybrid 2x a week onsite)

Overview The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for attracting, evaluating, and hiring top-tier talent to support organizational growth and strategic objectives. Partnering with hiring managers across the U.S., this role manages the full recruitment life cycle—including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and recommending candidates for their manufacturing roles including forklift drivers, material handlers, warehouse associates, etc.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to define staffing needs, sourcing strategies, and selection criteria.

Provide coaching to hiring managers on recruitment processes and best practices while ensuring compliance with employment laws and equal opportunity standards.

Proactively source top talent through job boards, social media, professional networks, referrals, and other innovative channels.

Represent the organization at career fairs, industry events, and networking opportunities to promote the employer brand and build strong talent pipelines.

Develop tailored recruiting plans, write job postings, create interview questions, and design assessments when appropriate.

Screen applicants, conduct thorough phone interviews, and assess candidate fit, interest, and compensation requirements.

Coordinate and participate in interviews and reference checks to ensure high-quality hiring decisions.

Partner with hiring managers and compensation teams to develop competitive job offers and negotiate terms with selected candidates.

Ensure a smooth candidate experience from initial contact through offer acceptance.

Maintain accurate candidate and recruitment data within the applicant tracking system to support talent acquisition metrics and compliance.

Research and share trends, market data, and best practices to continuously improve recruitment strategies.

Qualifications

Proven experience managing high-volume recruitment for a variety of manufacturing roles.

Strong sourcing skills with knowledge of traditional and innovative recruiting channels.

Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.

Ability to influence and coach hiring managers throughout the hiring process.

Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and recruitment metrics.
