We are hiring an electrical engineer who will lead the implementation of both current product optimization and new project designs. This position is primarily electrical in nature but will require an understanding of various engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial machine control. Direct application of the principles of closed‑loop control (PID) systems used in servo systems (i.e., hydraulic, electro‑mechanical, pneumatic) will be needed throughout the delivery process for control and data acquisition systems.

To do well in this role you shall be able to work in a multi‑tasking role which has a small‑team environment.

Responsibilities

System design and creation of electrical schematics and electrical BOM for each project.

Develop control system hardware assembly and wiring diagrams.

Design power distribution and circuit protection for electrical panels.

Specify and select components as well as related services based on requirements such as safety, limits, response, logic description, control tolerance, transient response, etc.

Controller programming as needed, typical PLC ladder logic, LabVIEW, Delta Motion RMCTools are used.

Ensure project compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.

Confer with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.

Coordinate with the core LabVIEW software development team.

Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.

Contribute to proposal development and support marketing activities as needed.

Develop printed circuit board designs (such as Gerber) as needed.

Assist with in‑house start‑up and commissioning of test systems.

Assist with startup/checkout and verification of test systems on site at the customer’s facility.

Supervise and train project team members, vendors and customers as needed.

Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Work primarily at the Canton, MI office; this is not a remote position.

Education

Bachelor of Science in EE, EET, Controls, or equivalent experience.

Experience

3 or more years practical control design experience in industry, preferably in a testing environment.

Ability to conceive and create electrical drawings with corresponding bills of material.

Ability to work in industrial environments and lift materials and operate machinery.

Capacity to resolve complex technical issues within a team and work with minimal oversight.

Experience with the use and implementation of PID controllers.

Good problem solving skills for design and field troubleshooting.

Ability to clearly communicate in English both orally and in written form.

Valid Driver’s license.

Willingness and availability to travel up to 15% to support customers locally and occasionally internationally (Mexico, Canada, Germany for example).
