A dynamic and rapidly growing personal injury and first-party property damage law firm seeks a highly motivated and passionate Appellate Attorney to join their team in their Florida office.

Position Summary In this role, you will see that clients receive the best care and obtain excellent results. You are expected to meet with clients to discuss their case, show compassion and empathy, and demonstrate an ability to earn their trust, confidence, and respect. You will also update clients and communicate with insurance companies from time to time regarding the status of claims, demands, and offers. In addition, you should be able to prepare the case for trial and try the case if needed. Appellate Attorneys each have approximately 10-20 active appeals and work directly with one paralegal to assist them with ongoing cases.

Key Responsibilities

Handle all aspects of appellate cases, including brief writing, oral arguments, and motions practice.

Provide on-site legal trial support to attorneys while they are in the process of trying cases in court.

Meeting with attorneys and reviewing drafts of filings on substantive legal motions and responses such as summary judgement and post-judgment matters.

Conduct thorough legal research and analyze complex legal issues.

Collaborate with trial attorneys to develop and execute litigation and appellate strategies.

Draft clear, persuasive, and well-reasoned legal briefs and memoranda.

Present oral arguments before state and federal appellate courts.

Stay current on legal developments and changes in appellate law.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys and legal staff.

Qualifications REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in appellate litigation, preferably on the plaintiff's side.

Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines effectively.

Excellent oral advocacy skills with experience arguing cases before appellate courts.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Commitment to ethical practice and client advocacy.
