A leading provider of core components for global car manufacturers, VS Company is supporting the emerging trend of the vehicle industry.

Staff Development Engineer This job requires technical experiences related to building cutting-edge product and Development experiences. This position needs to have comfortable working with the manufacturing industry as well as high technology-driven products with LG and customers. This role is focused on developing a project and deeply involving technical requirements in the development as well as issue resolving. Customer & Tier companies communication and development management to ensure strength and innovation in the LG automotive business. This role is directly influencing the integration project development across all LG and automotive manufactures and requires a confidant with identifying problems, communicating the concerns and driving for closure in order to deliver the best development quality within the time frame with build trust while demonstrating excellent features implementation and problem resolving skills. This role must play nice with others, have a humble service mindset, and be a results-driven self-motivator.

Responsibilities

Lead project planning, status reporting, team engagement, project risk visualization and mitigation plan

Development planning as well as managing multiple feature development milestone

Identify and manage all project development quality during and after development

Understand team responsibility and provide guide to team members in short to long-term

Manage OEM customer design request, develop APQP and manage 3rd party solution

Manage Software & Hardware issues and communicate the customer to handle the issues

Release weekly development progress report and communicate with customer's engineers

Communicate with LGE HQ cross-functional teams not limited to program

Support to resolve both business, manufacturing, and technical issues

Support to identify and manage all feature issues, publish a weekly report

Support cross-functional teams Validation, Manufacturing, procurement/Purchasing, Sales and Quality, customers

Review with the Software/Hardware Project Lead for decisions related to function development

Team and function management as the main point of contact for the customer

Follow customers acceptance process in addition to the internal development process

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's degree

12+ years or equivalent experience in Development in automotive component Development

or, 15+ years or equivalent engineering experience with developing and/or testing an automotive component

or, 18+ years or equivalent experience delivering high-quality products or services to automotive companies

Prior experience and/or knowledge of:

Managing multiple technical projects simultaneously and delivering to agreed-upon cost, quality, and timing expectations

Recognizing and mitigating both technical and organizational challenges

Leading and managing engagements with customers (mostly vehicle Makers), collaborators, and 3rd party software developers.

Planning and coordinating teams of people

Vehicle Infotainment feature & Telematics and Vehicle interface technology products

Automotive development process or service new technologies to industry players

Product life cycle from ideation to design to prototype to production

Working in and/or with distributed engineering teams, sales team, quality team, and customers

Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail

Desire to learn constantly and dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies

Passion for technology and problem solving

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with transparency being paramount

Travel/Physical Requirements

Up to 30% travel, including out-of-state and international travel as required

Ability to:

Sit/Drive and/or test in a vehicle for up to 8 hours a day, up to 4 hours at a time

Ability to lift/carry/setup up to 30lb samples, workstations, benches, box and tools

Interact with display/center controller/steering wheel while driving or while stationary testing

Preferred

Prior experience with:

IATF 16949 certification

APQP&FMEA certification

Managing technical teams building embedded systems

Bilingual - Korean / English

Recruiting Range

$109,537 - $146,050 USD
