Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Paralegal to join our Washington, D.C. office. This role supports attorneys with complex tax-related legal matters, including litigation and regulatory filings, with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Support all phases of legal matters, including discovery, document production, and depositions
Assist in drafting and filing federal and state court documents
Proofread and cite-check legal materials; verify authorities and exhibits
Coordinate confidential and complex filings
Conduct research using platforms like Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, EDGAR, etc.
Use tools like Relativity, CaseMap, and TextMap for document review
Prepare materials for interviews, hearings, client meetings, and trials
Maintain organized electronic and physical case files
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support teams across offices
Manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting
Knowledge of federal and state court procedures and e-filing
Strong Bluebook citation and legal research skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology platforms
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Willingness to travel and adjust hours as needed
