Our client a leading Am Law 50 firm is seeking a Specialist Paralegal to join its Washington DC office. This position offers the opportunity to work on high‑profile investigations and white‑collar defense matters supporting attorneys throughout every stage of the litigation lifecycle.
About the Role The Specialist Paralegal will apply deep knowledge of litigation processes and procedures to provide advanced support on complex cases. This role requires strong organizational, research and technical skills as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate, organize and prepare complex legal documents related to investigations and white‑collar defense matters
Build and maintain case databases and document repositories; manage document productions using e‑discovery tools such as Relativity
Conduct factual and legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, PACER and other databases
Prepare materials for depositions, hearings and trials; provide on‑site trial support as needed
Proofread, edit and cite‑check legal briefs and motions (Bluebook / California Style Manual)
Manage filing logistics with courts and agencies ensuring compliance with procedural rules
Coordinate closely with attorneys, internal teams and external vendors to streamline workflows and ensure timely deliverables
Handle multiple case teams and matters simultaneously while meeting the firm’s high standards for quality and efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and ABA‑approved Paralegal Certificate preferred
10 years of litigation paralegal experience including at least 7 years in investigations or white‑collar defense
Arbitration and trial experience required
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Relativity, LexisNexis, Westlaw, PACER and CM/ECF
Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules and document management processes
Excellent communication, attention to detail and time‑management skills
