Medical Science Liaison Dermatology - North Texas
About the role: The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a key field‑based scientific partner to healthcare providers, decision‑makers, medical professional associations, and UCB colleagues. The MSL executes key medical strategies to improve patients living with chronic inflammatory skin diseases.
Who you will work with: The position supports the Immunology Patient Value Unit in North Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
What you’ll do
Maintain deep scientific knowledge in dermatology and deliver clinical value propositions, engaging key decision‑makers in medical groups, IDNs, and regional payers.
Identify and support potential research expansion projects, collaborations, medical advisors, and educational partnership opportunities.
Conduct local roundtables and education programs to enhance KOL understanding of unmet clinical needs.
Serve as a scientific expert at medical and scientific conferences, advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings, and internal meetings.
Support field‑based cross‑functional teams with medical expertise in access engagements and updates to Standard Response Letters.
Review and critique scientific publications to inform healthcare trends in dermatology.
Collect, analyze, and communicate information on therapeutic options, emerging standards of care, competitive intelligence, and medical information inquiries.
Provide effective clinical presentations to internal and external audiences, tailoring presentations to meet specific needs.
Assess feasibility and serve as the primary liaison between UCB and investigators for unsolicited investigator‑initiated studies from inception to publication.
Minimum requirements
Doctorate degree (PharmD, MD, DO, or PhD in a relevant field).
Valid US driver’s license with no more than 3 moving violations in the past 2 years.
Residency within the assigned territory.
Completion of initial training and successful assessment within 90 days of hire.
Frequent business travel, including overnight stays and weekends.
Preferred requirements
3+ years of field medical experience.
Immuno‑dermatology experience; prior product launch experience preferred.
Basic business acumen and understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
Knowledge of health economic principles and clinical trials.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Creative problem‑solving and adaptability.
Team player with excellent organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Reasonably anticipated base salary range $156k–$204k annually.
