Interim Finance Director, M&A & Divestitures
We are seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to oversee key financial workstreams during a major divestiture transition within a healthcare organization. This is a contract role lasting at least one year, requiring work in the Pacific Standard Time zone. Base Pay Range
$90.00/hr – $110.00/hr Key Responsibilities
Divestiture Transition Leadership Lead financial workstreams during the divestiture transition period. Design and implement new processes to close operational gaps rather than defaulting to legacy models. Partner with external buyers to ensure readiness across all financial pillars. Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, Reimbursement, Financial Statements, AP, and Payroll teams. Understand interdependencies and operational commitments within each function. Translate strategic priorities into actionable deliverables for subject‑matter experts. Manage inbound and outbound diligence requests alongside internal finance experts. Ensure timely, accurate, and complete responses aligned with buyer expectations. Protect sensitive data and maintain strict confidentiality throughout the process. Project Management Lead the design and rollout of new operational processes and systems. Oversee planning, tracking, and execution of medium‑complexity finance initiatives. Drive clarity, accountability, and communication across workstreams. Communicate effectively with executive leadership and cross‑functional teams. Provide structure and calm in high‑pressure or ambiguous situations. Lead with empathy and professionalism, ensuring collaboration and alignment across teams. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred. Experience: 8+ years of experience in finance with exposure to M&A and divestitures. Strong operational finance background across Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, Reimbursement, AP, and Payroll. Proven ability to manage cross‑functional projects and work with external stakeholders. 5+ years prior experience in the healthcare industry required. Skills: Deep understanding of financial statements and operational finance processes. Strong project management and facilitation capabilities. High emotional intelligence and ability to lead through influence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and SharePoint.
