Responsibilities
Adheres to the Admitting Department’s guidelines for Behavioral Standards.
Assignments include all areas of Admitting and Cashier.
Assist with orienting and in‑servicing.
Assist with monthly staffing schedules.
Process mail, bank deposits, patient and employee payments, billing, cashier transactions.
Maintain logs, batches and receipts, and submit to Accounts Payable.
Process parking, food services, radiology, medical records requests, subpoenas, private‑room transactions and create cloud e‑receipts.
Manage reimbursement, distribution and replenishment of petty cash.
Answer phones and respond to urgent requests, escalating concerns to the Director and ensuring issues are resolved.
Perform appropriate ADT searches to eliminate duplication of Medical Record Numbers.
Obtain complete patient demographics and insurance coverage, verify data, and secure labels, wristbands and face sheets.
Reconcile daily census in Epic, input accurate data and distribute census reports as directed.
Process all support documentation to complete admissions, obtain signatures and provide patient bills of rights.
Maintain Decedent Affairs log and complete electronic death certificates.
Functions as liaison between hospitality suite patients/families and clinical staff.
Schedule procedures and appointments in Epic and other systems.
Assist director with schedule, training, and other managerial responsibilities.
Provide lead support to admitting department staff and comply with dress code.
Attend meetings as requested.
Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D. required; college degree preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent customer relations, interviewing, written communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle multiple priorities under stress and computer literacy.
Experience with ADT systems and data entry (40 wpm).
10th‑grade reading and 9th‑grade math competency or proven aptitude.
