Student Transition Programs Coordinator
Inside Higher Ed (Dartmouth College) is looking for a Student Transition Programs Coordinator to support key student affairs events such as New Student Orientation, Commencement, and divisional award processes. The position is a 9‑month term, full‑time, hybrid (four on‑campus days and one remote day per week).

Position Purpose The
Student Transition Programs Coordinator
supports the Division of Student Affairs by providing comprehensive logistical and administrative support for key events, including New Student Orientation, Commencement, and divisional award processes. Under the direction of the Director of New Student Programs, the Coordinator collaborates with campus partners, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure the successful execution of these important institutional programs.
Job Responsibilities
Plan, manage, and execute events such as Commencement and New Student Orientation.
Coordinate logistics, secure venues, and oversee event setup and breakdown.
Manage event budgets and track expenses.
Collaborate with campus partners, key stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure seamless event execution.
Develop and execute communication strategies for incoming students and campus colleagues.
Manage website content, create marketing materials, and leverage social media platforms.
Disseminate information through multiple communication channels.
Manage correspondence and scheduling.
Maintain records and files.
Provide general office support and assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency.
Two to three years of relevant experience in event planning, program coordination, or a related field, with demonstrated growth in autonomy and responsibility.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience managing events, including planning, logistics, and on‑site execution.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software or technology.
Demonstrated cultural competence and effectiveness in serving a diverse community, with a strong commitment to inclusivity, equity, and accessibility.
Commitment to personal and departmental integrity, creativity, collaboration, initiative, and professionalism.
Strong creative thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field (event management, hospitality, communications).
Experience with student activities, event planning, and management in a higher education setting.
Experience coordinating large‑scale events.
Familiarity with website content development and proficiency with communication, social media, and/or graphic design tools.
