Position Purpose To serve as a resource for Center-wide projects that promote the Center’s engagement with the broader Dartmouth community and external stakeholders. In particular, provides programming support to the Political Economy Project collaboration initiated in 2025.

Description The Program Coordinator will provide critical assistance to the Rockefeller Center public programs team.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated writing/research skills with experience creating email and social media communication.

Demonstrated experience designing promotional materials and printed assets for public programs and events, including high proficiency in social media platforms.

Availability to staff late afternoon and evening programs, and work flexible work hours.

Proficiency with website management.

Experience with event development, planning, and implementation.

Ability to simultaneously manage multiple project timelines.

Ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators, staff, and students in determining and carrying out program needs.

Ability to take initiative, work independently, plan and prioritize work, make decisions and respond appropriately to pressure, deadlines, and changes in priorities.

Demonstrated proficiency with current office technology (e.g. MS Office suite, Dropbox, Slack).

Budget management skills.

Ability to transport program participants (valid driver’s license required).

Ability to physically assist with program set up and clean up (includes moving furniture, signage, food and beverage, etc.).

Some travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in a highly autonomous setting.

Prior experience with event planning and management.

Experience in Adobe Suite including Adobe Express and other design platforms (Canva or similar).

Experience and comfort with social media marketing.

Responsibilities Outreach and Marketing (40%)

Work with the Assistant Director to expand the public program communication strategy to maximize visibility and invite a diverse audience.

Act as communications liaison among Political Economy Project, Public Programs team, Center Communications Manager, and Dartmouth College Central Communications department.

Create printed and digital assets for all projects, including posters, social media posts, invitations, and programs.

Manage presence content on the Center and project websites, including calendar updates, event updates, archiving, and related news stories.

Event Logistics Support

Work with Assistant Director to ensure all logistics and event setups are in place.

Staff events, providing assistance to visiting speakers/guests and attendees.

Coordinate with vendors for audio/visual support, catering, accommodations, and travel.

Collaborate with photographers to capture events.

Help coordinate and manage student assistant staffing.

Provide backup support to other Co‑Curricular programs as needed.

Administration and Finance (20%)

Maintain event communications budget and submit expenses.

Participate in weekly planning meetings with Public Programs team and Center staff.

Hire and supervise student program assistants for event administration and research.

Demonstrate commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness.

Perform other duties as assigned.
