Annexon Biosciences is a biopharmaceutical company advancing a late‑stage platform that targets upstream C1q to block the classical complement inflammatory cascade. The company is developing therapies for neuroinflammatory and ophthalmic diseases such as Guillain‑Barré syndrome, Huntington’s disease, and geographic atrophy.
Position Summary:
The Senior Manager of Medical Affairs (MA) Operations will support the Neurology and Ophthalmology Medical Affairs teams by managing and executing key projects, coordinating with external vendors, and ensuring compliance with contract processes. This role is a key member of the leadership team overseeing the entire portfolio of Annexon Medical Affairs activities and pipeline.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with MA TA VPs, MSL Team Leads, and Medical Directors to plan and execute projects aligned with therapeutic area objectives.
Manage relationships with meeting‑planning and logistics vendors, MLR program vendors, medical education agencies, and CRM agencies to support MA activities.
Support planning and execution of onsite and off‑site meetings for internal and external stakeholders, including All Hands meetings, field medical meetings, advisory boards, and congress‑based activities.
Operationalize congress activities and partner with legal on contracting for society sponsorships, exhibit planning, and KOL engagements.
Liaise with the Contracts Team to ensure timely submission and full execution of all contracts, and implement processes for submitting and tracking consultant contracts.
Support compliance with Annexon policies, including submission of advisory board approval requests to Legal.
Work with the VPs of MA to develop the annual tactical plan and budget and track budget performance quarterly.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a functional biopharma operations role (e.g., medical affairs, commercial, R&D) managing activities with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, cross‑functional roles, and key external stakeholders.
Expertise in project management, resource planning/management, and common digital platforms in fast‑paced environments to achieve results based on key performance indicators.
Self‑driven with demonstrated ability to make informed decisions and solve problems with sound judgment.
Cross‑functional collaboration expertise.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
Compensation Salary Range:
$156,000 – $173,500
Location Brisbane, California (preferential consideration for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area).
