Role Description We are seeking a Staff Tax Accountant for a full‑time, on‑site position in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. The Staff Tax Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of tax and accounting functions, including preparing and reviewing business and individual tax returns, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting audit and tax planning engagements. The position requires a strong foundation in accounting principles and the ability to apply them in tax compliance and advisory contexts.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review Federal and state income tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
Assist in preparing workpapers and schedules in accordance with accounting and tax standards.
Support senior staff in tax planning and research projects, including cross‑border and multi‑entity structures.
Stay up to date on current tax laws and accounting standards to ensure compliance and accuracy in all deliverables.
Collaborate with engagement teams to ensure deadlines are met and client communications are professional and timely.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (Master’s degree in Taxation preferred).
Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP required.
Tax compliance experience is a plus, particularly in preparing business or individual returns.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/tax software.
CPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is preferred.
