Deriva Energy is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented

Senior Analyst, Renewable Energy Development

to support the execution of solar and hybrid solar + storage projects across the United States. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Director of Solar Development and cross-functional teams to evaluate new opportunities, perform market analysis, coordinate project due diligence, assist in moving projects through the development lifecycle, and support strategy efforts across the team. This position offers exposure to all aspects of mid to late stage renewable project developmentfrom community engagement and permitting to offtake support and financingproviding a strong foundation for a long-term career in clean energy development. Key Responsibilities

Project Support & Coordination

Assist in managing the project development process, coordinating with internal teams and external consultants on permitting, interconnection, community and stakeholder engagement Track project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely execution and compliance with internal milestones

Strategy and Market Analysis

Conduct market research and data analysis to identify new solar and storage development opportunities in target regions Support competitive assessments of renewable project sites, policy environments, and market trends to inform strategic development decisions

Stakeholder Engagement

Coordinate with landowners, permitting agencies, and community stakeholders to support successful project development Prepare materials and summaries for meetings with regulatory bodies, local officials, and community partners

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work with teams across development, engineering, finance, legal, and construction to move projects through key milestones Provide analytical and administrative support for contract negotiations, permitting filings, and interconnection requests

Continuous Improvement

Identify and implement improvement initiatives to help create a more efficient and repeatable development process. Evangelize and drive adoption of existing productivity tools such as MS Planner, Tollgate Reviews, and PBAs

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain accurate project records, development tracking tools, and performance metrics Support preparation of management reports, presentation decks, and status updates

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field Three (3) years or more relevant work experience Desired Qualifications

Five (5) years or more of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field Three (3) years or more of experience in renewable energy, project finance, consulting, or related field Experience in utility-scale renewable energy development, project finance, or energy market analysis Working knowledge of project development stages, including permitting, interconnection, and offtake structures Familiarity with financial modeling and valuation techniques for infrastructure or energy projects Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Exposure to regulatory policies, wholesale power markets, and renewable energy incentives Proficiency in GIS, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), or project management software a plus Collaborative mindset with a proactive, problem-solving attitude Working Conditions

This role is based in

Charlotte, NC . Up to

25-50% travel
