Program Assistant, PSP Summary

East Side House Settlement (ESH) is a community resource in the South Bronx that cares for the individuals, families, and communities we serve by expanding opportunities to live more fulfilling lives through education, career, and supportive services. ESHs Post-Secondary Pathways (PSP) program aligns with our mission by providing high?quality young adult career development services on?site at partner schools and local community centers. As a Program Assistant, you will provide administrative and clerical support to the Post?Secondary Pathways Program. Under the supervision of program managers and the Director of PSP, you will manage program data, coordinate supplies, organize logistics for GED testing, and work closely with leadership to track progress, solve problems, and strengthen program performance. Primary Functions

Assist participants with enrollment applications and referrals to additional support services Provide administrative support to the Education Manager, instructors, and the Director Prepare classroom materials and manage classroom environments for GED, ESOL, and workshop participants Manage participant outreach and engagement activities using a prioritized list of potential students Conduct data entry in databases such as Salesforce, DYCD Connect, and Excel tracking spreadsheets Maintain up?to?date participant files (physical and electronic) in accordance with organizational and funding source requirements Participate in Program Improvement Team meetings to review data and recommend changes Plan and implement office systems, layout, and equipment procurement; maintain inventory and check stock levels Place purchase orders for supplies, equipment, and food Guide students in establishing and pursuing educational goals, and document progress regularly Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports Assist with pre? and post?testing of students, including administering unit tests and quizzes Answer telephone calls, route calls, and take messages; provide excellent customer service and client assistance Support partner events, outreach at NYCHA housing developments, community meetings, block parties, health fairs, and local business fairs

High school diploma or GED; AA degree in a human?service related field preferred Bilingual in Spanish or French preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience working with culturally diverse populations and grassroots outreach in urban communities Knowledge of the Mott Haven section of the Bronx is highly preferred Self?directed and organized Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Google Classroom, Docs, and Sheets)

Expected Work Schedule

This role is full time, Monday through Friday, 9?a.m.??5?p.m. Hours may be subject to change based on ESH needs. Required Clearances
