Job Description
Confidential acute-care facility seeking a dependable Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and capillary draws across all ages, manage specimen handling/labeling, complete documentation, assist with clerical lab duties, and support patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and skin puncture for pediatric, adult, neonatal, and geriatric patients. Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for testing; follow chain-of-custody and rejection protocols. Verify patient ID and complete specimen collection documentation in the LIS/EMR. Educate patients/families on collection procedures with professionalism and care. Assist with clerical lab tasks (faxing, phones, pneumatic tube, reports) and resolve outstanding specimen/accessioning issues. Maintain supplies, follow infection-control and safety protocols, and participate in quality control. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; vocational/technical or phlebotomy certificate beneficial. Entry-level to
MediClear certification (or equivalent) - required. Strong time-management, attention to detail, and patient-service skills. Familiarity with specimen handling, labeling, and basic EMR/LIS entry. Ability to pass background check and any required screenings. Compensation & benefits (condensed)
