Description
The Program Coordinator supports the operational and programmatic needs of the Community Initiatives Department. This role provides cross-functional support for a range of programs-including the Community Cat Program, Pets in Crisis Support Program, Pet Connectors, and additional department initiatives-ensuring cohesive implementation, coordination, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities Community Cat Program Support Assist with TNR (trap-neuter-return) operations, logistics, and data entry Coordinate delivery of traps and kitten kits to affiliates or volunteers Support trapping events, volunteer engagement, and program communications Assist with the Neighborhood Ambassador Program by preparing outreach materials and supporting communications and event logistics Pets in Crisis Support
Provide back-up and administrative support to the Pets in Crisis Coordinator as needed Partner & Affiliate Relationship Management
Serve as the point of contact for local partners, addressing inquiries and ensuring smooth collaboration Develop, maintain, and strengthen placement partnerships with rescue groups and community organizations, ensuring alignment in mission, philosophy, and approach Maintain consistent communication with partner agencies to identify needs and deliver appropriate services and resources Partner Membership Model Management
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of member organizations participating in the AHS Partner Membership Model Manage communications, renewals, and records related to partner benefits, such as adoption showcases, discounted vet services, event space usage, training access, and Food & Supply Bank resources Coordinate training sessions, partner meetings, and collaborative events to strengthen relationships and build capacity among members Develop systems and processes to ensure the model is scalable, transparent, and value-driven for both AHS and its partners Events & Outreach Coordination
In coordination with the Director of Community Initiatives, plan and execute department-led outreach events including community workshops, conferences, and educational events Work collaboratively with other departments to manage logistics such as venue setup, volunteer coordination, community partner communication, and preparation of promotional materials Represent the department at tabling events, speaking engagements, and collaborative outreach activities Support company-wide events and initiatives by providing coordination, setup, and follow-through, as needed Cross-Departmental Collaboration
Work closely with Community Engagement, Animal Health, Shelter Solutions, and Statewide Teams to ensure cohesive execution of programming, engagement opportunities, and branding expectations Assist with aligning locally focused Community Initiatives work with Statewide thought leadership while ensuring both remain distinct and complementary Qualifications
Experience in program coordination, community outreach, or animal welfare strongly preferred. Strong multitasking, organization, and administrative skills Effective communicator, both orally and in writing Passion for serving people and animals in underserved communities Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry platforms Fluency in second language, especially Spanish, a plus Valid Georgia driver's license with favorable driving record; insurable by AHS insurance provider Willing to frequently travel locally Work Location & Conditions
This position requires a consistent in-office and field presence at AHS locations, including Roswell, Marietta, Norcross, and Atlanta Heavy travel between sites is required to support programs, events, and community-facing activities This is not a remote work position Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodations Frequent bending, standing, and lifting during outreach and transport activities Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by events and program needs Comfortable working around cats and dogs of various sizes, temperaments, and medical conditions
