Job Summary
Our Mechanical Engineer’s play a key role in supporting low-volume, high-complexity coil manufacturing within an FDA-regulated environment. This position involves providing extensive technical and process support across multiple departments, including Line Production, R&D, Service, Quality, Purchasing, and Planning. This position plays a large role in supporting and troubleshooting 3D printers used in the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a variety of tasks. This multifaceted role requires both independent work and collaboration within cross-functional teams. The engineer will also lead projects, managing them autonomously and driving them to successful completion. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide continual leadership to improve quality and reduce cost of manufacturing processes as a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team
Management of Manufacturing Engineering projects
Drafting and Mechanical Design - including:
ECO drafting support
Design and creation of tooling and fixtures
Tooling and fixturing design improvements
Supplying mechanical and materials expertise to the team
Life-cycle support, including Production, Process and Service support:
New product introduction (NPI) support
Process improvements and Continuing Engineering
Supplier, Vendor and Customer technical supportAssembly documentation
Mechanical assembly troubleshooting
Traditional manufacturing engineering, including documentation and change orders (ECOs)
Qualifications
Education
4 year degree, with BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred
Required Experience and Skills
At least two years’ experience working in a professional environment
Fixture Design Experience
Experience with Engineering Change Orders
Experience writing Work Instructions/Manufacturing Routers
Recent college graduates will be considered for this position with a minimum of one substantive professional internship, co-op or university lab.
Competency with SolidWorks or other drafting software - minimum one year experience
Competency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel)
Fluent in English with above average writing skills

Production line trouble shooting including assembly processes, equipment, and developing equipment preventive maintenance, especially 3D printing.
Experience as Advanced Manufacturing Engineer or New Product Introduction Engineer:
New Product Introduction
Design for Manufacturability (DFM); Design to Cost (DtC)
Process Improvement and/or Continuing Engineering
Process validation, including development of validation protocols
Production line troubleshooting - assembly
5S and Lean manufacturing
Automated Assembly experience:
LabView software programming
Automation technologies
Design for Automation
Competency in any ERP or PLM software (SAP, Agile, Dynamics GP, etc.)
Writing assembly manuals
Instructor experience (any subject)
Familiarity with Change Orders (ECO)
Quality Management System Support, including knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO, FDA, etc.)
Purchasing and Vendor support
