qualifiedcandidates for our Protection & Automation Technician Development Programbeginning in January 2026.

This program is based in Wendell, NC.

protection and automation

products and solutions. A variety of opportunities are available across the business supporting project design tasks, operations, product development, special projects and process improvements.

Our

Protection & Automation TechnicianInternship Program

offers hands-on experience inside our

PanelAssembly Workshop (PA PAWS)

in Wendell, NC - where our Siemens

SIPANELSs,Industrial Control Panels (ICPs)

are built to power the control systems that protect and automate electrical substations.

Throughout the 12-month program, you'll gainexposure to each phase:

Phase 1 - Assembly Foundations

Identifyand assemble mechanical and electrical components of Industrial ControlPanels.

Learnwire cutting and crimping techniques for high-quality electricalconnections.

Interpret3D models and schematic diagrams to route wiring efficiently.

LearnSiemens safety standards, quality processes, and product fundamentals.

Phase 2 - Quality Testing & Verification

Inspectand test completed panels prior to shipment.

Gainhands-on experience with electrical safety, wire routing and dressing bestpractices, fiber optic termination and testing, and Ethernet communicationtesting.

SupportFactory Acceptance Tests (FATs) with customers, ensuring panels meetdesign and operational standards.

Phase 3 - Protection Relay Technician Rotation

Receiveand inspect protective relays arriving from Siemens Germany.

Loadfirmware and customer-specific software configurations.

Performbench testing and final verification before delivery.

Phase 4 - Relay Technician Field Service Rotation

Workside-by-side with Siemens lead engineers at real electrical substationsacross the U.S.

Participatein Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) forlive customer projects.

Gaininvaluable real-world experience supporting Siemens Protection &Automation solutions in the field.

Throughout the program, participants receive continuous mentorship and exposure to real Siemens projects serving utilities, data centers, and renewable microgrids.

Program Completion and Career Path

At the conclusion of the PA TDP, participants-based onperformance and personal interests, may:

Selecttheir preferred technical area to continue contributing long-term(e.g., Assembly, Quality Testing, or Field Service).

Serveas mentors for incoming PA TDP cohorts, guiding future generations ofSiemens technicians.

Pursuea 4-year Engineering degree, supported through Siemens' TuitionReimbursement Program, enabling continued education and professionalgrowth while remaining part of the Siemens team.

CompletedAssociates Degree in

Electrical Engineering, Electrical SystemsTechnology, Electronics Engineering Technology

, or relatedprogram.

Full-timeavailability begins January 26th, 2026.

Interestedin learning how power systems, protection relays, and automation panelswork together.

Demonstratedattention to detail, teamwork, and commitment to safety.

Proficiencyin English, including reading, writing, and speaking.

Mustbe able to lift parts or sub-assemblies weighing up to 50 lbsoccasionally.

Applicantsmust be legally authorized for employment within the United States withoutthe need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
