Manager – Protection & Automation Early Talent & Development Programs Siemens is seeking a passionate and strategic leader to manage and expand our technical talent early career program for the Power Protection and Automation (PPA) business. This role will oversee the full ecosystem of early talent programs that support the long‑term growth of our business.

Key deliverables include all engineering and technical workforce roles such as Interns, Co‑Ops, Apprentices, Technician Development Program (PA TDP), and support for our flagship Engineering Development Program (PA EDP). The manager will develop structured learning, Power Academy training, and hands‑on rotational experiences, collaborating closely with the Technical Talent Director to align with Siemens’ workforce development and technical excellence strategy.

Responsibilities

Lead strategy and vision for technical talent development across PPA.

Enhance Intern, Co‑Op, Apprentice, and Technician Development programs, providing structured learning and hands‑on rotations for PPA roles.

Partner with Power Academy and subject‑matter experts to deliver curriculum and certification paths aligned with PPA needs.

Strengthen collaboration with universities and technical schools, supporting academic outreach and SCADA/Power Academy initiatives.

Mentor participants and ensure feedback, career growth, and alignment to Siemens values.

Measure program outcomes and adjust strategies to meet talent pipeline goals.

Collaborate with Technical Talent Director and PPA leadership to align early‑talent efforts with organizational objectives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, plus relevant power industry experience.

5+ years of engineering management, technical project leadership, or training experience in power protection & automation.

Proven experience developing, mentoring, and training engineers.

Strong communications and presentation skills to diverse audiences.

Must be physically present in the Wendell, NC (Raleigh area) office at least three days a week.

Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Substation Protection, Automation, and Network Communications solutions.

Experience leading early‑talent, technician, or apprenticeship programs.

Familiarity with Siemens Power Academy or similar structured learning environments.

Compensation $102,459 – $175,644, plus 10% performance bonus. (Hybrid work model out of Wendell, NC).
