*Overview*: Our firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Litigation Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in municipal law, tort litigation, and general litigation practice. This position offers the opportunity to handle cases from inception through trial, working closely with partners and municipal clients.
*Responsibilities*:
* Represent municipalities, public entities, and private clients in state and federal litigation. * Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses. * Appear in court for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials. * Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, and strategies. * Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to ensure effective case management.
*Qualifications:*
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. * Admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut (federal court admission a plus). * 25 years of litigation experience, preferably in municipal or tort litigation. * Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis platform, writing, and oral advocacy. * Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication abilities. * Proficiency in legal drafting and understanding of litigation procedures. * Familiarity with legal administrative processes within a busy law office setting. * Effective negotiation skills to facilitate settlements or resolve disputes efficiently. * _Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment_.
