full-time History Faculty
position to begin Fall 2025 for the 2025-2026 academic year. This position will be responsible for developing and teaching American History survey courses, African American History, Women in American History, and World Civilization I-IL. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the use of technology in the delivery of instruction to improve student learning outcomes. The successful candidate will also demonstrate the use of varied teaching techniques that help students develop critical thinking, research skills and understand the relevance of history in their lives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintaining the appropriate number of office hours at times of day convenient for students.
Providing meaningful feedback, and timely responses to students' work and questions.
Meeting all division, department, and college deadlines.
Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and reporting attendance as required.
Keeping careful grade records throughout the academic term.
Attending scheduled faculty meetings and training sessions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Master's Degree in United States History or American Studies or
At least 18 graduate hours of approved coursework in American History.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Ph.D. in History or American Studies, with a focus in American History.
Community College Teaching Experience.
Demonstrated excellence in online teaching and QM (Quality Matters) certified.
