Shift Schedule:
The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the face of the organization, providing high-quality specimen collection services to patients. This role involves direct patient interaction, requiring professionalism, empathy, and technical skill to ensure accurate and safe blood draws. The Phlebotomist I supports laboratory operations by preparing specimens for testing and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Location: Venice, FL
Duration: 5+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift Schedule:
- Monday - Friday: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM (at F6B - Venice Walmart)
- Sunday: Off
The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the face of the organization, providing high-quality specimen collection services to patients. This role involves direct patient interaction, requiring professionalism, empathy, and technical skill to ensure accurate and safe blood draws. The Phlebotomist I supports laboratory operations by preparing specimens for testing and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens from patients of all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment in compliance with infection control standards.
- Accurately document patient interactions and specimen data while maintaining confidentiality.
- Provide clear communication and reassurance to patients during procedures.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet daily operational goals.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and uphold HIPAA regulations.
- Adapt to flexible scheduling needs including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required); medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA).
- Experience: Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required; 1+ year preferred.
- Skills: Strong phlebotomy technique; customer service experience; proficient in keyboard/data entry.
- Must reside within a 20-25 minute commute of the job site.
- Reliable transportation is mandatory (rideshare/bus not accepted).
- Must be punctual, available for full scheduled shifts, and maintain consistent attendance.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.
