Lead Production Control Planner
to become a key member of our Defense Space Systems Integration & Test team. As a crucial lead for production control in a significant defense space program, you will provide leadership and coordination in planning, scheduling, and executing work orders to hit vital program milestones. This role is essential in synchronizing material availability, production capacity, and scheduling priorities among engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary production control representative for assigned programs, ensuring seamless coordination of planning, scheduling, and execution activities across various functions. Lead production planning to balance capacity, materials, and schedule requirements effectively. Monitor and control work order execution, actively resolving challenges like shortages, engineering changes, and priority conflicts. Leverage ERP system data to inform procurement, rescheduling, and work order decisions. Develop comprehensive production workflows for multiple spaceflight assembly deliverables, organizing and scheduling all resource requirements to meet production objectives. Create and maintain production schedules, Line of Balance (LOB) charts, and track critical milestones. Facilitate daily or weekly production meetings to address shortages, discuss order status, and strategize with supply chain and manufacturing teams. Provide expert guidance in cross-functional meetings with Program Management, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain. Ensure integrity in ERP and MES data, maintaining accurate manufacturing order dates and WIP statuses. Generate informative reports, dashboards, and status updates for leadership and program stakeholders. Mentor and support Development of Production Control Planner I/II team members through knowledge sharing. Champion ongoing improvement initiatives for planning processes and reporting tools. Maintain compliance with company policies and relevant industry standards. Support the use of MES software to track and control manufacturing processes, ensuring quality and efficiency. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field with 6-8 years of experience in production planning or materials coordination, or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience. Strong familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, preferably Deltek Costpoint. Advanced skills in interpreting and applying MRP action messages within an ERP system. Established track record in managing production planning and addressing material and schedule challenges in a defense or aerospace setting. Demonstrated ability to work through cross-functional collaboration in a matrixed team environment. Willingness to live near or relocate to the Huntsville/North Alabama area. Proven independence in managing everyday objectives impacting operational results. Ability to juggle multiple priorities and schedules effectively. U.S. Citizenship required, with the capacity to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a cleanroom environment. Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint, Solumina, and Windchill systems. Hold APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar certifications. Proficient in Excel, Power BI, or data analysis/reporting tools. Experience with ETO/MTO manufacturing programs involving complex BOM and WBS structures. Comprehensive understanding of production processes and operations. Knowledgeable in Lean/Six Sigma principles and AS9100/ISO9001 compliance. Extensive proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
