Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician at American BOA, Inc., you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facilities. Leveraging your technical expertise and problem-solving skills, you will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and address maintenance-related emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance and Repair: Perform preventive maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment, machinery, and systems according to established schedules and procedures. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and perform repairs or adjustments to restore functionality and minimize downtime. Replace or repair defective components, such as motors, bearings, belts, gears, and pneumatic or hydraulic systems, using hand tools and power tools. Facility Maintenance:
Conduct routine maintenance tasks on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems, to ensure safe and efficient operation. Inspect and maintain building infrastructure, including roofs, walls, floors, doors, and windows, to address structural issues and maintain a safe working environment. Perform general repairs and carpentry work, such as painting, patching, and minor renovations, as needed to maintain facility appearance and functionality. Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations while performing maintenance activities, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. Conduct safety inspections and audits of equipment and facilities, identifying hazards, and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, documenting work performed, parts used, and hours worked. Emergency Response and Support:
Respond promptly to maintenance-related emergencies, such as equipment breakdowns, power outages, and facility disruptions, to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations. Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and other departments to troubleshoot issues, prioritize repairs, and coordinate equipment maintenance schedules. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred. 2-5+ years of experience as a maintenance technician in a high-volume manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical (24V - 480V), and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs: Allen Bradley SLC500/MicroLogix PLCs using RSLogix Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices, equipment reliability concepts, and maintenance management systems. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in maintenance and repair activities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with team members, supervisors, and external contractors. Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed to support production schedules and respond to maintenance emergencies. Experience Optional but a plus:
Allen Bradley SLC5000 using RSLogix5000 Siemens PLC control systems (S7 Family) Human Machine Interface (HMI) Robot Systems AC, DC, and Servo Drives Fabrication of basic fixtures and jigs Certified Electrician or other Industrial Maintenance certifications a plus Working Conditions:
Physical Demands: This role often requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects. You may also need to work in confined spaces or at heights. Work Environment: Maintenance Technicians work in an industrial manufacturing setting, which can be noisy and will involve exposure and hands on work with various machinery and equipment. Safety protocols are crucial. Work Hours: The job might require working in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the company's needs. Skills and Qualifications: Proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance is essential. Certifications or technical training in relevant fields can be beneficial. Team Collaboration: Working closely with other technicians, engineers, and production staff to ensure equipment is functioning correctly and efficiently.
