Payroll Specialist Indianapolis, IN Contract-to-Hire $21 - $25/hr.

Job Description: We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join a fast-paced team supporting payroll operations across the U.S. and Canada. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys solving real-world payroll challenges. You'll be the first point of contact for payroll-related inquiries and play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.

Responsibilities: Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles, including multi-state payments, 401(k), and FSA deductions Validate new hire data and tax setup Maintain and update employee earnings, deductions, and time codes Handle quarter-end and year-end payroll adjustments and reporting Prepare monthly payroll entries for financial close Support audits including 5500 filings and annual 401(k) reviews Respond to employee inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure compliance and accuracy Qualifications: 5+ years of payroll administration experience Strong knowledge of time and attendance systems (Workday, OSV, UltiPro preferred) Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) Experience supporting finance and accounting teams Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities Pay Details:

$21.00 to $25.00 per hour
