Director of Purchasing
Location: Cincinnati, OH

What You'll Do:
Relate Search has partnered with a leading multi-unit restaurant organization seeking a Director of Purchasing to lead the effective, efficient, and timely selection, procurement, distribution, and monitoring of all food, beverage, and restaurant supply products. This role oversees sourcing, contracting, cost controls, and inventory management, ensuring compliance with service, quality, and pricing standards. The Director of Purchasing will play a pivotal role in driving procurement strategy, supplier relationships, and operational excellence to achieve financial and performance objectives.
Responsibilities: • Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing and contracting strategies across key spend areas to achieve cost savings and ensure product quality and availability. • Lead demand planning, procurement, supplier management, and logistics to optimize performance and service delivery. • Oversee day-to-day purchasing operations and distribution activities, resolving issues efficiently and ensuring continuity of supply. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Culinary and Operations to identify and source new products, support menu innovation, and optimize existing ingredients and supplies. • Monitor commodity trends, assess risk, and communicate mitigation strategies to senior leadership to maintain continuity and manage costs effectively.
Qualifications: • 5+ years of national supply chain experience with progressive purchasing oversight in high-volume, multi-unit restaurant organizations. • Proven track record in strategic sourcing, procurement, and vendor management with deep knowledge of commodity markets. • Experience managing inventory, cost control, and contract compliance programs. • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to drive cost improvements through data-driven supply chain initiatives. • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Culinary, Finance, Operations, and IT teams.
