Search Solution Group is seeking a
Vice President, Corporate Controller
on behalf of our client, a leading provider of wireless transport systems and services. The company develops and delivers advanced communication solutions including microwave routers, switches, and radios, along with professional and managed services to major telecommunications and service providers. This position will oversee all corporate accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and operational efficiency. The VP Corporate Controller will play a key role in supporting executive decision making, leading audits, driving financial integrity, and contributing to the company's overall growth and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the accounting organization, ensuring the team is properly staffed, trained, and equipped to achieve success in day-to-day operations as well as monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.
Oversee the preparation of timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial statements and reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards within a complex, project-based business environment.
Maintain responsibility for the design, effectiveness, and execution of internal controls and SOX compliance.
Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures to strengthen reporting accuracy and operational accountability.
Lead accounting research and provide appropriate documentation, rationale, and entries for complex business transactions.
Ensure accurate balance sheet management through timely completion, review, and documentation of all account reconciliations.
Analyze key areas such as revenue, cost of sales, accounts receivable, unbilled receivables, inventory, and unearned revenue.
Partner with the FP&A team to provide financial insights and reports to the executive team and Audit Committee.
Manage and lead all aspects of the external audit process and quarterly reviews.
Collaborate with functional and departmental leaders to align financial operations with company objectives.
Participate in M&A due diligence and lead post acquisition accounting integration efforts.
Work closely with the CFO on special projects requiring in depth financial and operational analysis.
Mentor, coach, and develop direct and indirect reports to build a high performing accounting organization.
Perform additional projects or responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements include:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
Master's degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
Experience: 10 to 12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including a combination of public accounting and corporate financial reporting.
Prior experience as a public company Corporate Controller or Assistant Controller.
Strong background in SEC reporting, including authorship of 10-Q and 10-K filings.
Experience in project-based businesses with complex revenue recognition requirements.
Previous involvement in M&A due diligence and integration activities preferred.
Experience working with audit committees and boards of directors is highly desirable.
Skills: Advanced technical accounting knowledge with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Superior proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Oracle EBS strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success managing remote and cross functional teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong leadership, organization, and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Capable of pivoting quickly between strategic initiatives and detailed financial tasks.
Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
Strong command of revenue recognition standards and complex accounting treatment in project-based environments.
Experience with RevPro revenue recognition software preferred.
