Maintenance Technician

Job Duties and Responsibilities
This role involves planning and executing comprehensive diagnostic and repair operations on a wide range of plant equipment and systems.
Perform and oversee major repairs, overhauls, and installations of industrial equipment, ensuring precision and adherence to manufacturer specifications, blueprints, and schematics. Provide technical guidance, on-the-job training, and coaching to junior and less experienced maintenance technicians to develop their skills and knowledge Troubleshoot complex equipment, machine, and system problems (e.g., hydraulic, air, gas, water, ventilation), providing anticipated repair time and cost estimates to operating departments. Perform repair and rebuilding operations on complicated equipment, working from hydraulic, structural, or electrical drawings and specifications. This includes disassembly, inspection, part replacement, bearing/bushing fitting, and precision alignment. Plan and perform operations to rig, move, position, align, level, and secure machines and equipment to foundations. Maintain critical plant systems including hydraulic, air, gas, water, power transmission equipment, overhead cranes, and hoists, along with general building maintenance. Execute preventative maintenance on assigned machines and equipment to ensure reliability and minimize downtime. Set up and operate metalworking equipment (e.g., sheet metal roll, rake, iron working) to fabricate miscellaneous parts and equipment from metal stock, maintaining necessary certifications. Perform mechanical installations, including machine alignment, bearing fitting, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of hoists, casting machines, shot blasters, and environmental equipment. Plan, lay out, and set up your own work based on extensive knowledge of welding, metalworking, and mechanical maintenance methods, utilizing sketches, drawings, schematics, and verbal instructions. Education Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Technical Proficiency:
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and use precision measuring equipment. Diagnostic Skills:
Strong ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system problems. Fabrication Experience:
Proficient in metal fabrication using various metalworking equipment (e.g., sheet metal roll, rake). Preferred Skills (a plus!):
Experience with
Automation and/or PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)
systems.
